About Us

Forest Park School is a very special place which provides for children aged 2-19 with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties. The school is based on two sites, one mile apart. We have a team of dedicated, talented and skilled professionals who provide a child centered approach which is flexible and responsive to individual needs. We promote a happy, supportive and positive learning environment.

Equality objectives

Forest Park School Equality Objectives

We recognise that the public sector equality duty has three aims:

  1. Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct under the Act
  2. Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
  3. Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not

We have considered how well we currently achieve these aims with regard to the protected groups under the Equality Act (race, disability, gender, gender re-assignment, age, pregnancy and maternity, marital status, sexual orientation, religion and belief and sexual orientation).

Having referred to and analysed our equality information, we have set ourselves the following objective(s):

Objective 1: To offer a diverse range of communication methods alongside a personalised curriculum to enable all pupils to have the best experiences.

Objective 2: To ensure the needs of all the pupils are met when out on a trip.

Objective 3: To ensure that diversity and equality are reflected in the curriculum map each year

Objective 4: To ensure that all pupils are gaining a consistent approach to improving their independence whilst in school.

Objectives updated: November 2022
