Forest Park School is a very special place which provides for children aged 2-19 with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties. The school is based on two sites, one mile apart. We have a team of dedicated, talented and skilled professionals who provide a child centered approach which is flexible and responsive to individual needs. Site Assistant

Forest Park School are looking for a site assistant to join our friendly team.  We are a special school for pupils from 2-19 years, based on 2 sites in Totton (approximately 1 mile apart) and the role will cover both sites. 

The post is for 25 hours a week, and the anticipated hours are Monday to Friday 2pm to 7pm.  There will also be a need to work one or two Saturday mornings (approx. 1pm finish) a month (these are paid as additional hours).  There may be a possibility of further additional hours to accommodate evening hirers of the facilities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a good knowledge of Health and Safety in an educational environment
  • Ensures that high standards of cleanliness are in place across the whole school and takes pride in maintaining the school site to a good standard
  • Is self-motivated and works well as part of a team
  • Is able to use their own initiative as well as planned works and carry out any essential work
  • Is able to carry out minor repairs and redecoration tasks
  • Can manage, and be part of, a small team of cleaning staff
  • Can take responsibility for the security of the site
  • Is able to keep stock up to date and organise replacements as necessary
  • Supervise hirers/external users of the building as needed
  • Arrange for contractors to be on site as needed and ensure they have the correct information needed prior to visits
  • Has an understanding of working in a school environment, including their role in keeping children safe

Regular training opportunities will be given and the role will involve regular lone working.
